In simple terms, a sentence is a set of words that contain:
1.           subject (what the sentence is about, the topic of the sentence)
2.           predicate (what is said about the subject)
Students were able to understand kinds of sentences.

Work done in the class

Lesson 3  'A Hero'
                     by R.K. Narayan

Courage is everything, strength and age are not important. Students were able to learn the true qualities of a hero through the character of Swaminathan who was challenged to sleep alone in the room of his father's office.

The following questions were discussed in the class:
(a) What is courage?
(b) Why did Swami's father challenged him?
(c) Would you call Swami 'a hero'?
(d) Why did everybody in the school praise Swami?

Students came to know about the desirable and undesirable traits of people at work place.
They read the stories as well as poem to understand the theme like 'Teacher's Prayer' etc.
